The next award prediction we have is the Norris Trophy, this award going to the best defenseman in the league. This is going to end up be a two-horse race between Victor Hedman of the Lightning and Cale Makar of the Avalanche. They are the top two D in the league and no one can deny that. Hedman is who I think is the best defenseman in the league. His reach, size, defensive ability, and offensive ability makes him the complete package for me. But, Cale Makar is going to win the Norris. Makar will be a perennial winner of the Norris. He is the most exciting player to watch in the league besides McDavid and even sometimes he will be more exciting. He does everything you can ask for and more as a defenseman, the biggest difference between Makar and Hedman is their explosiveness with the puck. Makar has the potential to score 30 goals and 100 points as a defenseman, and make fantastic plays in the D zone. Right now, Makar is far and away the favorite to win the Norris with his betting odds being -110 and Hedman at +700, but the race is going to be closer than that. If you're going to lay the lumber on one, it's Makar, but a sprinkle on Hedman at +700 is a play worth making.
